An Unusual Event From My Own Past

While I work on my book, I decided to post some on my unusual
experiences here. Some, unbelievable I know, still these
experiences actually did happen. Things happen to everyone
(or almost everyone) that can’t seem to be explained by any
means to satisfy the person these events happen too. In my
opinion, there are no exceptions. I’ve just recently joined a
group that explores such events. I hadn’t had a chance to listen
to Dreamland, but my daughter had and mentioned the current
program with Starfire Tor and Brandon Scott.

The program reminded me of my own past and a peculiar event
that has always “Bugged” me. You see, I grew up as somewhat
of a loner, I just didn’t seem to fit in with any crowd around.
Being a loner, I began roaming the woods near my home and I
guess the truth be known, I considered those woods my second
home.

I was about fourteen at the time, I was out in the woods one
morning with my dog. The area was a thick pine grove at the
top of a hill overlooking a lake. An old road lay right through
the pine grove, it had grown up over the years till the old road
bed was hardly visible. I knew the land was posted, but that
never bothered me much, I just wanted a place to go to get away
from people since that seemed to be the only time I stayed out of
trouble.

On this particular morning I stopped for a moment. I guess my dog
saw what was taking place the same time I did. A fog or something
appeared, it looked something like what you might imagine the
smoke would be coming from a hole in the ground with something
smoldering. Only, I knew that place pretty well and there wasn’t
a hole. The fog or smoke began to take the form of a human or
humanoid. Now, as I said, I was about fourteen, young and I was
scared. I would say my dog was too, to be honest, I couldn’t say
which of us had the lead in leave tracks behind. My only thought
at the time was making my way across our pasture near my home as
fast as I could travel. I’m still not sure how I managed to clear
that barbed wire fence between me and home.

I have always wished I had stayed around long enough to see what
was materializing in front of me, but my feet just wouldn’t stay
put. I’ve had many others that are quite different over the years,
but I guess this one has bugged me the most.

Cheers to all
