working from home. I am one of them. Believe me it has been
a curvy, up hill, down hill ride. The great thing is you can earn

Let us consider a few ways to accomplish some things to help

1. Be careful in choosing the right business for you. The Inter-
net is overflowing with a huge amount of choices in which you
might be interested. The opposite is true, also. Beware of the
home business that promises you riches and wealth but really
are just people looking for other people just to make them-
selves rich. Choose wisely, it will save a lot of discouragement
and heartache in the future.
2. A home business is exciting and very rewarding when you
do find the one for you. You can make money with the poten-

Studies shown that too much television causes marked memory
loss. France has banned French T.V. channels from airing pro-
gramming aimed at children younger than three years of age.
And, in the U.S., more and more reality shows with little or no
content come out every season. What ever happened to reading
a good book?

In a recent program on National Public Radio, Robert F.
Kennedy, Jr. talked about how in the U.S., the public knows
more about “events” like the results of “American Idol” (on
the 10 or 11 p.m. news!) and celebrity “news gossip” (insert
name of celebrity here) than they do about public and social
concerns, not only those in the U.S. but also around the world.
In fact, the U.S. major “news” outlets (e.g., C.N.N., MSNBC,
Fox) spend more airtime recycling and regurgitating the celeb-
rity “news” that they do on any other story (e.g., Paris Hilton’s
jail woes in 2007). And, more and more reality shows with little
or no content come out every season…
Yes, it is the “dumbing” down of the U.S. public.
This phenomenon is not limited to the United States. Studies in Aus-
tralia have also shown that too much television causes marked memory
loss. The researchers believe that passive television viewing does not
intellectually stimulate the brain or mind. In fact, most shows do not
stimulate critical thinking.
And, on 21 August 2008, in a report by Christine Ollivier of the Asso-
ciated Press, France (yes the country) has banned French T.V.
channels from airing programming aimed at children younger than
three years of age. For foreign programs that are offered on cable,
a warning message will be broadcast at the beginning of each show!
(wow, just like a package of cigarettes!) Health experts have stated
that “Television viewing hurts the development of children under
three years old. Risks include slow language acquisition and develop-
ment, over-excitedness, troubles with CONCENTRATION and more”.
Yet, children continue to spend on average up to 4 hours per day
watching television according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In comparison, they spend on average ONLY 2 hours and 14 minutes
PER WEEK studying and doing school work (USA Today Weekend
Magazine).
What’s more, children who watch too much television are more
likely to be overweight and obese. And if your child watches 3 to 4
hours of television per day, he will have seen about 8,000 murders
(!) on T.V. by the time he finishes grade school. In comparison, the
average American adult watches nearly five hours of television per
day (A.C. Nielsen).
And, obesity is on the rise in adults as well. According to the CDC,
only four states (Colorado, Hawaii, Connecticut and Vermont) had
obesity prevalence rates below 20 percent, while 17 states had pre-
valence rates equal to or above 25 percent. In a recent BBC America
program on health and wellness, in the U.K. obesity is approaching
25% of the population.
So what can you do? Well...turn off the television and begin to use
tools that can develop your mind in a positive and productive manner!
And, the good news is that there are many great self-improvement
systems in print that have content on how your can develop your
mental powers of concentration, thinking and more. In addition, there
are many that give you the strategies to improve your positive, quality
INTERPERSONAL (i.e., face-to-face) communication with others, that
can lead to wealth, prosperity and abundance in your life. In fact, if you
look at many successful people today, you will see that they are master
communicators.
In addition, look for resources that show you how know to use the tools
of consciousness and wisdom to find the spiritual power within you.
The goal of which is to become less focused on “the Self” and more
focused on the truth that will lead you to happiness. Communication
with others will be improved, and the doors to a life of abundance will
open for you.
MOTIVATE yourself and take time to develop your mind and spirit.
Turn off the television. And even take some time away from the iPod
and Blackberry. Put them aside. Don’t worry, they will still be there
waiting for you.

Let’s start with the most obvious self employment ideas. What job do you
do right now? Would you be happy doing that job if you did it for yourself?
Do you hate the job or just the company that you work for? If you hate

don’t despair. If you are creative and focused, you will think of a great
idea. Chances are good that you will find a way that you can make money

things that you like to write about. There are tutorials you can find on-
line that teach you how to write ebooks. Blogging can also be very luc-
rative if you get into the right niche market. Blog about customer serv-
ice, personal finances, business finances, gardening, or any other subject
you feel you are an expert at. Some people have worked themselves up
to making six figures a year spending their days blogging online, after
building an online presence and a good following.
Sit down and make a list of the subjects you are good at, interested in, or
want to be interested in. This will then become your list for your poten-

less of your belief in that theory, it’s hard to argue that there is a limit-
less supply of oil.
American will also have to contend with increased competition for a limi-
ted resource. There are rapidly growing economies in Asia, particularly
those in India and China. This increased competition will cause prices to
trend higher.
So what does that mean? Obviously it will be more expensive to drive.
Even if you make the argument for alternative fuels, gasoline isn’t going
away anytime soon. Potentially there could be a shift toward more tele-
commuting. Perhaps even a population shift away from the outer suburbs
and back to more urban centers. Regardsless of what you believe about
consumption, there will be a change in the way we live.
So how do you adapt? It’s easy to accept that emergence of the internet
has changed all of our lives. There is access to information that I could not
even dream of when I was growing up in the 1980s. The internet has

but surely, the world taught you how to fail. It is not natural
for you to fail. Your natural state is one of success, joy and
growth. You can regain that wonder you had as a child and
that unshakable belief in yourself and your abilities. All you
need do is identify those self-defeating patterns of thought
and feeling which silently run on automatic in the
background noise of your mind.
If you sit quietly and contemplate your beliefs and attitude
towards your dreams and inner desires you will be shocked
at just how much negativity you have allowed into your
consciousness. It is unfortunate though that the negative
thoughts we hold in mind are mostly subliminal, or
subconscious, in nature. Most the time they can be so subtle
that they go unnoticed for an entire lifetime. If you have
not achieved the success you dream of or are not living your
life with joy and appreciation for the things you have
achieved then you are certainly carrying around a large
amount of subliminal negativity.
Now these beliefs and patterns of negative thinking are not
your natural state and were most certainly given to you,
initially, by well-meaning parents and peers. However, if
they are allowed to remain active within your mind they will
cause havoc with your life and undo any attempts you make
to create the life you desire.
I am sure if you give it some thought you will be able to
identify the sources of these negative beliefs, thoughts and
feelings. However, this approach is totally unnecessary and
can in fact keep you stuck thinking and feeling in the same
way. You do not need to know how or why these negative
beliefs became ingrained in your consciousness and part of
your belief system. You just need to identify them and then
remove them!
Take a good look at what you have in life right now. This is
your demonstration. Whatever you have in life or wherever
you find yourself it is a direct result of how you think and
feel about yourself and your place in the world. If you are
content and like that then you have no need to change
anything.
However, if you think there are areas that could be improved
or even completely changed for the better then it is important
for you to begin to understand exactly how you currently
think and feel about those areas.
List all the important areas of your life, relationships, career,
finances, health, hobbies and see what comes to mind as you
contemplate how these things are now. This will show you
how you have been thinking, feeling and creating up to this
point.
It is also important to become conscious of how you are
viewing yourself and how you are treating yourself internally.

in one form or another. Practise giving yourself some approval.

Are You Thinking Yourself To A Negative Life?
A car can only go in two directions, either forward or backward, and
like a car, we can move forward or backward in our lives. Our every
thought either takes us toward our goals and desires or away, and
has a positive or negative effect on the direction of our lives.

like a car, we can move forward or backward in our lives. Our every
thought either takes us toward our goals and desires or away, and
has a positive or negative effect on the direction of our lives.
Your brain has a lot in common with a computer. If you feed it rubbish
you will get out of it what you would get if you poorly programmed a
computer.
Your every thought determines the direction of your life. If you are
moving backward then take time to analyze your thoughts. Make a
determined effort to recognize negative thoughts and treat them as
your worst enemy. Try not to dwell on them. Putty can be molded
into any shape or form and so too, your life can be shaped and your
destiny set by your thoughts.
It is not correct that you can’t change. you have exactly the same
potential for change as anyone. Just because your life has always been
one of under-achieving doesn’t mean that it always has to be that way.
It may not be easy, but with perseverance you can make the necessary
changes.
You’ll find plenty of self-help and self-development material both Online
and offline. Just remember that however much of that material you
immerse yourself in, it won’t do you any good unless you take action. You
must apply what you learn to reap positive changes in your life.
To help to make the positive a permanent part of your life you should
start by trying to see the positive in everything and everyone. This may
seem a tall order, but just imagine how much better you will feel by doing
this.
Find opportunities to put the power of your positive thinking to work. For
example, you might be standing in a long line at the supermarket checkout.
Rather than get upset, do your utmost to help-out and encourage others
with a kind word or compliment. You will be surprised at the positive
reaction and at how many people will bless you with a wonderful smile in
return.
If you start to practice the above you will probably be amazed at how much
easier your life will become. You will start to feel ‘in flow’ rather than
‘swimming against the tide’.
Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Just make changes a step at a time.
Set yourself small targets. Each small target you hit will be one more to add
to the larger target you’re aiming at. By aiming to make the positive a

Postum Update
Now I know what happened to my favorite drink besides
coffee. Frustrated of not being able to find Postum on the
store shelves, I wrote Kraft Foods, the makers of Postum
and discovered they had taken it off the market. Now, since
I had a living and breathing human being on the other end
of the phone line, I told her whoever came up with that
idea made a dumb decision (or something like that). I pro-
bably would have used a variety of other words, but hey –
you don’t get angry with a lady that had nothing to do with
coming up with such a hair brained idea.
Anyway, for any of you wishing to complain, fire away. Be
my guest, here is the phone number to
Kraft Foods 1-800-431-7678.

The Supermarkets Are Over Run With Idiots
This week my wife and I made our usual trip to the local store
to find something had been removed form the shelves. So,
angry as a mad hornet, I came home and decided to do some-
thing about it. The following is the letter I sent to Publix Super-
markets. Then I sent one to Kroger Supermarkets.
For years we have been drinking “Postum”. It is a hot beverage,
natural coffee flavor. Bar code #43000 10230, produced by
Kraftfoods. We like the red and white label, my mom likes the
green. Now you have removed it from the shelves, most likely
by the urging of a person who didn’t know what they were
talking about. It all sounds like politics, give the public what WE
want them to have, NOT what they want. There is a remedy
for it called “Switch Stores”.
One thing is for sure, whoever had it removed doesn’t have
a clue as to how to conduct a product survey with folks like
me. It was totally senseless to remove such a product as
Postum and they probably added one chocked full of caffeine.
My blog is not a place to make money, it’s a place to speak
my mind and that will be my next entry.
Please reconsider and ad Postum back to the shelves.

Home Business Systems Can Work
The Surprising Reasons Home Business Systems Can
Work- And The Secret Why 95% Of Them Fail
The author has identified two main commonalities shared
by successful home business entrepreneurs.

If you’ve spent any time surfing the web under categories
like work from home,” “business opportunities,” “make
$4,000 per week,” or even, “make $4,000 per day, at your
kitchen table, sitting home in your underwear” (maybe my
favorite headline of all time!) you might be a little confused.
Or depressed. Frustrated, maybe.
All of these claims can’t be true, can they? You know the
ones - the single mom who, in the old days, with 17 kids,
battling an addition to crack, living out of a box managed
to raise herself out of the gutter and now lives in a
$2,000,0000 home on the water, owns 11 Rolls Royces,
etc. etc. etc.?
Wanna hear the dirty little secret that the people behind
these systems don’t want you to know? At least 95% of
the people who buy their offering FAIL.
Does that mean that the hapless users, who plunked down
their hard-earned money (or financed it on credit cards),
got ripped off?
Surprisingly, the answer is “not necessarily.” Here’s what
I mean.
The biggest determinant as to whether someone will be
successful has less to do with the actual system than with
the person himself. Sure, there are legions of flawed methods
or business opportunities out there. But understand two
things:
1. No system is perfect.
2. It’s better to implement a flawed system than nothing at all.
So now, let’s consider each point. First, I hope I’m not
disappointing you, but there is no such thing as a perfect,
100% automated, risk-free business opportunity. Some
systems require less human intervention than others, but
if you believe the claims that something works all by itself,
you’re being extremely unrealistic.
(This just in: Santa Claus is really a fat guy with a fake
beard in a department store, and the Tooth Fairy isn’t real,
either. Sorry to let you down.)
So you get the point - you will need to be involved at least
somewhat, because the myth of a business that works
completely on autopilot is just that, a myth. Now, just
because the goal of complete automation is illusory does
not mean that you should strive for exactly that.
Why?
Because, just like in any business, most of the tasks involved
can be handled by low level, or 7 dollar an hour employees
or assistants. If you want to make real money, like $4,000
plus per week working only two hours per day, you’ve
unconsciously made a decision about what your time is
worth. Check out what I mean.
Assuming you work six days a week (you should take off at
least ONE day, for the love of Pete!), two hours a day, or 12
hours per week; and your income goal is $4,000. $4,000
divided by 12 hours is $333. You’ve decided that your time
is worth $333 per hour. So if you’re involved with a business
that requires manual labor, like licking stamps, data entry
and other administrative activities that can be handled by a
$7.00 per hour high school part-timer, you’re actually losing
$326 per hour.
The answer is to delegate as many of these low-level
activities as you can, either to technology or to other humans
who are paid less than what your time is worth.
You, on the other hand, should be spending as much of your
time as possible on high-yielding activities; i.e. those that
bring in the big bucks! Marketing, sales, strategic alliances
with other potential joint venture partners, whatever.
Anything designed to bring in bucks!
By the way, one important book that I’d whole-heartedly
recommend to you is the “E-Myth” by Michael Gerber.
The first book; I’ve never read any of his follow-up E-Myth
books. It’s still in print and available at Amazon and
everywhere else.
Let’s move on to the second point - you’re better off
implementing a flawed system than doing nothing.
I believe that procrastination is the biggest obstacle to
success. I suffer from it, you suffer from it; We all fight this
demon to some extent or another. But I understand the
main reason why people delay taking action - usually it’s
out of fear of the unknown. They’re uncertain that the path
they are considering will work out the way they hope; thus,
they’re not committed.
This is not a new problem - it’s embedded in our genetic
code. A famous Greek myth describes a battle waged by a
small, outnumbered army against a larger, more powerful
force. The general of the small army led his fleet across the
sea, landed on enemy shores and, before going into battle,
set fire to all of his soldiers’ ships. They understood that
there was no turning back - that’s commitment!
Shakespeare’s Hamlet also is a famous example of waffling,
indecisive figure. The reason Hamlet, like all of Shakespeare’s
works, endures is because of his accurate portrayal of the
human condition. So hesitation is nothing new!
Understand this, however: there is no perfect time to launch
a new venture; no magical moment when the starts align and
all of your over-analyzed details are neatly categorized and
pointing to clear action. There is always risk. In any
entrepreneur’s life, there is always a moment when he or she
must take a leap of faith. Sometimes there are several such
moments.
Ironically, the bigger, more common risk is the risk of doing
nothing. If you don’t act, even with a flawed plan, you are
almost certain to continue down a path that you’re trying to
avoid, such as piling up bills, being unhappy at work, whatever.
If you don’t commit to trying something new, giving it your
all, I can almost guarantee you that you’ll fail.
I guess that’s not so much of a risk as it is a near-certainty!
